Course Descriptions for next year’s courses are listed by department through the links below. Students and families should use this online Course Catalog to plan for student schedules for the upcoming school year.

HOW TO PLAN STUDENT SCHEDULES

  1. Review this overview of the spring course scheduling process.

  2. Students in grades 9 and 10 and all students with Academic Support in their schedules will receive a pre-scheduling lesson during the school day in the week of April 24th. Students in 11th grade attended a grade meeting on April 7th where they received this information. 7th and 8th grade students will receive support during the course request process.

  3. 8-11th grade students: Review this Schedule Planning Guide page and this Frequently-Asked-Questions (FAQs) page. 7th grade students: Review this Schedule Planning Guide and FAQs page.

  4. PRIOR TO ONLINE COURSE REQUESTS (during the school day in the week of May 8th): Complete the high school Course Planning Worksheet or 7th grade Course Planning Worksheet prior to the dates listed above.

In order to complete the Course Planning Worksheet, students and families should

  • review the PVPA Promotion and Graduation Requirements,

  • 8th-11th grade students: reference this Visual Schedule (.pdf) of high school courses - it will be posted around the school in poster size during the coming weeks.

  • use the online Course Catalog by clicking on the department links below to review course descriptions and verify any needed prerequisites. A printable version of the course catalog is also available online.
