Message from the Student Support Team
We are committed to working with all students in a way that affirms your identities, experiences, and feelings. We recognize that some students may have unresolved feelings following the Tom Thelen presentation on Friday.
We are available to talk with any student who would like support or a place to process feelings about Friday's events, and we invite you to seek us out. We will also reach out to our student affinity groups, diversity clubs, and student leaders for more information about how best to support you.

PVPA School Counseling Program
PVPA’s School Counseling Department supports and guides all PVPA students in achieving academic success, career and college readiness, and social and emotional well-being. In order to do this, the School Counseling Department offers a program tailored to each grade, including classroom lessons, individual or small group meetings, and other events and activities.
We believe that all students have the right to be respected, to be treated with dignity, and to access a school counseling program which advocates for equity and the well-being of all students. We are committed to working with all students in a way that affirms their identities and validates their experiences, and to collaborating with families, teachers, and other providers in support of students.
We work with all students in an equitable and inclusive manner, regardless of race, color, ethnicity, national origin, immigration status, language, sex, gender identity, gender expression, sexual orientation, religion or creed, disability, socio-economic status, or housing status. Furthermore, we seek to identify, understand, and eliminate barriers so that all students access the educational, extracurricular, career development, and social or emotional opportunities and supports they need in order to be happy, healthy, and productive community members now and in the future.
